How to Backup your Blogger contents

As we all know that BlogSpot is free to use blogging platform but it usually comes with many limitations.

One of the biggest limitations is that Google owns our control of the blog. It has the right to delete your blog at any point in time. This is usually done when you are violating BlogSpot TOS like you are using adult content, spamming purposes, malware-related activities, etc.

That’s why I am always suggesting you go for a self-hosted blogging platform where you have full control of your blog.
In order to protect them from happening you can back up your BlogSpot contents. It will be done in XML format and you can store it on your local desktop. It will usually depend on you as it is a manual process.

Let’s start the journey of back up of our contents:

Step 1: Log in to Blogger.com.
Step 2: Click on the Setting tab.
Step 3: Choose the Other option from the Setting tab.
Step 4: Click on Back up content.

Hence your content is back up fully in your local system. This will solve your two major problems:
  • If your blog is deleted, you will have the complete back up of your content.
  • If anytime, you change the code of the template and not able to find an error, you can easily restore your templates from the backup files.

I also recommend you to keep the files either in Google Drive or Dropbox, so that you can access them anywhere. So, which method you are going to use for the backup of your blogs?

I would also suggest you read these guides:
